Central Comedy Clinic
The Central Remedial Clinic (CRC), pulled off an amazing comedy gig last night in the Olympia. It featured all the top Irish comedians and raised over 30k for the charity. The CRC itself, provides a range of specialised services, from nutrition to occupational therapy, for children and adults with physical disabilities. The money raised last night, will enable the charity to continue the work it offers, nationwide, for those who need it most.
Des Bishop was the MC on the night and didn’t waste anytime getting some giggles in. It was a fantastic night overall, featuring all the top Irish comedians, each getting a mere 7 minutes each. It must have been a challenge to get the jokes packed into such a short period of time, but Eric Lalor, Karl Spain, Fred Cooke, Eleanor Tiernan, Dead Cat Bounce, Neil Delamere, Ardal O’Hanlon, Maeve Higgins, Gearoid Farrelly, Colin Murphy, Fred Cooke, Aidan Bishop and David O’Doherty.
My favourites had to be Dead Cat Bounce with their “Famine love song”, and Colin Murphy coming in second with his bit on spas and whale “music”. The whole gig was a giggle from start to finish and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house with the laughter! I’ll not review each individual comedian (as it’ll take ages), but I will tell you that you’re a fool if you missed the gig – it was awesome. If you want to see what comedy gigs are coming up, keep a beady eye on Yay!
