Join in with the innocent knit-a-thon!

Join in on a knitting world record attempt this Friday with the innocent Big Knit at the St Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre, Dublin.
Join in, have a bit of fun and help raise money for Ireland’s most vulnerable older people.

Friday is the National Day of Volunteering. If you’re up for something but don’t know what yet, this could be for you. Helen from innocent was in touch to tell us more:
There are only 3 weeks to go until our innocent big knit deadline (Friday 14th October) and we need a lot more hats to reach our target.
As part of the National Day of Volunteering, we’re holding an innocent big knit-a-thon along with Age Action Ireland, to help us reach our goal of 80,000 little hats. The hats will sit on our smoothie bottles in store from November and for every behatted bottle sold we’ll give 25c to Age Action Ireland.
Everybody is welcome from beginner knitters who’d like to have a go knitting a little hat, to knitting pros who can knit hats faster than the speed of light.
We’ll have wool and needles but you can bring your own too. We’ll keep everybody refreshed with lots of smoothies and knitting banter.
We’re going to be there from 10am – 6pm so pop in for a few minutes, or if you’d like to stay to for a few hours we’ll make you feel at home knitting with us.
So, if you have some time to spare on Friday 30th of September pop into to us in St. Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre, Dublin and knit a little hat to help Age Action Ireland keep older people warm this winter.

This is part of the National Day of Volunteering World Record attempt to break the current world record for the most people knitting simultaneously
The knit-a-thon will be a nation-wide event where hundreds, maybe even thousands, of people will be knitting for charities together as part of the National Day of Volunteering.
Rather than having everyone knit in one place, we will have “knitting sites” all across the country. The Guinness world record for the goal of “most people knitting simultaneously” is 1,147. Find out more here.
