Win tickets to see Jack L at the NCH with dinner and a signed poster

I met Jack L and Sharon Shannon recently to talk about their upcoming collaboration in the National Concert Hall. Now you can win tickets to the show and dinner beforehand.

I am really looking forward to this concert – the interview we did was fun and both Jack and Sharon sounded really enthusiastic about their collaboration on Chez Jack L. Details from the National Concert Hall website:

Chez Jack L – The Songs of Jacques Brel
Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 November, 8pm

Room: Main Auditorium
Prices: €35, €30, €20

Jack Lukeman
With Special Guest Sharon Shannon

One of Ireland’s most unique singer-songwriters Jack L – will host this exciting Parisian-style show “Chez Jack L”, a celebration of the late Jacques Brel.

Jack L aka Jack Lukeman is one of our most unique and best loved performers. Described as ‘a mixture of all the great voices of the 20th century ’, few can match Jack’s award winning powerhouse vocals.

His renditions of the songs of Jacques Brel are renowned. In 2004, spurred on by participation in an unreleased documentary on the Belgian crooner, Jack L created a show around the singer, and called it “Chez Jack L — Love, Sex, Death & Brel.” The show was a huge hit during its run, justifying a DVD release in 2004.

This live DVD marked the beginning of a Jacques Brel tour around Ireland that would see Jack selling out venues for weeks on end. We are delighted to welcome Jack L to reprise Chez Jack L on The National Concert Hall stage.

Jack L at the National Concert Hall, Dublin, November 2011

Adding to the Gallic flavour of the legendary Chez Jack L show and following in the footsteps of Brel’s famous lifelong accordion player Jean Conti will be our own superstar accordion virtuoso Sharon Shannon who will be making a very special guest appearance in the show and adding the quintessential accordion sound to classics such Jacky & Port of Amsterdam

“Jack Lukeman – a.k.a. – JACK L – is without doubt the most exciting performer to have emerged in this country over the past ten years…” (Sarah McQuaid, Evening Herald)

Presented by The National Concert Hall
