Win tickets to the Dublin New Year’s Eve Countdown Spectacular

Paul Brady, Damien Dempsey, Bressie, Riverdance and a huge celebration amid a festival in Dublin city centre. Would you like to be there on New Year’s Eve?

I’m sitting here trying to remember what we did last New Years Eve. I know there was a pub and then the bells at St Patrick’s Cathedral and a couple of drinks but it wasn’t anything special. It wasn’t an event. I don’t think there was a BIG event on in the City Centre that we could have gone to.
That’s changed this year. There’s an outdoor concert at College Green – tickets are €10 and can be bought online – and thanks to the organisers I have five pairs to be won.
From the website:
For the first time ever Dublin will play host to a premium outdoor New Year’s celebration. Ideally located in the renowned setting of College Green the NYE Countdown Concert is guaranteed to please !
The impressive lineup includes the likes of :
For only a tenner this is great value for money. MC’ed by the beautiful Michele McGrath and with a visit from the much loved Sam Maguire you will definitely be entertained throughout the night.
Amazing lighting and pyrotechnics will highlight and animate the entertainment throughout the night. Climaxing with an electrifying display to match the excitement in the crowds you will see the New Year in with a smile on your face.
- Date : 31 December
- Venue : College Green, Bank of Ireland
- Time : 9pm – 12:30am
- Cost : €10
A percentage of tickets sales of the NYE Countdown Concert will be given to support Focus Ireland, a national housing and homeless charity.

There’s a big 3 day festival on in Dublin that weekend – December 30 to January 1 – called NYE Dublin, created to “animate Dublin city centre, engage residents and attract visitors to the capital over the three day period.”
During the festival, seasonal markets will be located in central locations across Dublin, including Wolfe Tone Square, Temple Bar and Barnardo Square. Children’s entertainment will be provided in various ‘kids’ fun zones’ including an ice rink in Wolfe Tone Square.
There will be a host of other activities scheduled across the city to entertain adults including Irish movie screenings in the Grand Social, readings and events at the James Joyce Centre and stunning projections on Trinity College.
On New Year’s Eve, the side streets of the city centre will become a hive of activity with street festivals including live entertainment, DJs, street theatre and circus acts to create a lively atmosphere in the build up to the countdown celebrations.
You can view the schedule or download a PDF here but I’ve placed them below just in case neither of those options are available to you. I hope your eyesight is good!
Some of the events listed are the 7UP Winter Wonderland at Kilmainham, Robinson Crusoe & The Pirates of the Carribbean at the Gaiety, Sister Act at the Grand Canal Theatre, the Gardiner Street Gospel Choir, the Ringing of the Bells at Christ Church Cathedral, Choral Evensong and Handel’s Messiah at St Patrick’s Cathedral and the Big Wakeup at the 40 foot in Sandycove.

To be in with a chance of winning a pair of tickets to the NYE Countdown Concert, just comment below.
Don’t forget to follow them on twitter @nyedublin or keep up to date on Facebook.
Winners will be emailed. Over 18s only, I’m afraid!
Huge thanks to NYE Dublin and to Anri at Conway Communications for offering the prize.
